SASCWATCH

sascwatch

The SASCWATCH project is tackling the longstanding problem of understanding air-sea fluxes at high wind speeds. Fluxes in this regime are highly uncertain due to the complex processes involved and the difficulties in making observations in hazardous conditions, yet their characterization is crucial for understanding and forecasting extreme weather events such as hurricanes. A diverse team of PIs and collaborators has been built pulling in expertise in extreme-weather observations, air-sea interaction, waves, turbulence simulation, coupled modeling, and tropical cyclone meteorology.
